With a focus on site, civil and underground utility, D&M Civil successfully services the Construction Management, Owner's Project Management and Owner markets in and around the Boston area.

The Estimator will work with the executive team and grow with dynamic, experienced civil and underground utility professionals.
The right candidate will have the responsibilities of estimating projects in accordance with the established D&M policies and procedures.
This position requires a self-starter that is very detail oriented with excellent communication and time management skills.
Core
Responsibilities:
Ability to perform a complete civil takeoff from the bid documents by systematically breaking down each component to establish the total direct cost of a project.
Solicitation of project specific quotes (RFQ's) from vendors & subcontractors Extraction of data from the bid documents that would affect the productions, quantities & pricing of items relevant to the bid.
Understanding of the capabilities and limitations of heavy equipment used within the civil/sitework industry to accurately project equipment utilization.
Knowledge of earth moving, excavation, grading & utility installation crew productions.
Establishing and maintaining customer & vendor relationships.
Ability to be transparent & handle constructive criticism of your work.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple project deadlines.
In this position, you will work hand in hand with the Director of Estimating.
Qualifications:
Civil construction experience (5 years preferred) Civil Engineering degree preferred.
Experience performing detailed Water, Sewer & Drain Takeoffs.
Ability to read plans, specifications & geotechnical engineering reports is a must.
Experience utilizing B2W (Bid2Win) Estimate or similar estimating software to put an estimate together.
Experience with Carlson Takeoff earthwork software to accurately determine the cuts/fills on a project.
Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Microsoft Project experience is a plus.
Experience bidding projects ranging from $300,000 to $3,000,000.
Experience bidding unit price projects (MADOT, NHDOT, Municipal) is a plus, but not required.
Five years' experience as an Estimator and/or Project Manager working at a Heavy Civil Contractor.
